[ He's really enjoying this whole texting thing. Demigods usually don't carry phones because it attracts monsters but here he doesn't have to worry about it. So it's Sunday night, the trial and execution is over and it doesn't matter if they're sitting side-by-side at the bonfire together or not. Akira is still getting a text. ]

I don't really have a reason

[ He shrugs, figuring that Akira may not be up to actually talking. But Nico doesn't want to not get to know him or let the other stew for too long with his feelings. So he's reaching out. ]

[He sends that and pauses for a moment, just.. staring... before finally, he types:]

What do you do to relax?

[ Doesn't seem all that important in the scheme of things. ]

i read books
history mostly
because i dont really remember stuff and i sort of missed out on seventy years worth of history

if im really wound up i find some monsters to fight
gets rid of pent up energy and tires me out

by getting stuck in a mystical casino where people dont age and dont realize seventy years is passing them by
they just sit and play games

Don't have a favorite place really but
Goro helped me to forget about the shithole that was my life, even if just for a little while

[ He's nodding in understanding to that and bumping Akira's side with his own. ]

he really seemed like a nice guy
i didnt know him well or long but even i could see that about him

[Akira blinks and looks over, then... hesitantly leans against Nico.]

More than nice. The guy was practically a saint.

[ He accepts the other's weight fairly easily for someone smaller and thinner (but still muscular). ]

i wanna say i know a few guys like that but they can be merciless so

[ A quiet hum. ]

"Minions" makes your dad sound like a supervillain

[ Accepts it without saying a word about it. ]

most people look at him that way i suppose
even his own family at times
considering hes the greek god of the underworld

Didn't know Hades had a son
But then I don't know a ton about mythology

[ His eyes roll a little bit, not at Akira but... ]

a whole bunch of kids the gods had with mortals
theyre called demigods

my mom was a regular mortal human

There's a few pregnant moments' pause before he responds:]

[ Nico doesn't ask why, doesn't press for more details. No hesitation at all when he sees that single word. Just types and sends this. ]

[Any tension that had come from being asked that question leaks out of him.]

A place where I can rest

It'd be nice not to worry or stress for awhile

[ Seeing as how they're so closely pressed together, Nico feels it.

He glances over at Akira, expression soft and concerned. ]
